The North Avenue Bridge projects was completed in 2007, this project was urgently needed in order to improve traffic flow down busy North Avenue after large retail developments were constructed not far from the bridge.

Now traffic from Chicago’s expressways to North Avenue’s retail shopping district and back is a much less arduous adventure, the bridge was completely demolished and replaced with a new, wider version.
